Elements Preview

(Yes I will fix the typography, this is merely a placeholder)

oh my goddddd

Anyhoo, here's a preview of ALL OF THEM laid out. They're very small here but if you come see my show you can see them in their full size glory! Huzzah!!

I will probably end up redoing a couple of them but for now, here they all are together. I'm pretty proud of myself!

Well, the fun part is over - now I get to do all the printing/installation/preparation for the senior exhibition and that is going to be the nightmare of my life. But for now I'm going to eat some dinner, watch some Digimon, and spend the rest of the night on figuring out the typography. So enjoy this little preview and I will see you next time!

Senior Thesis Update #5

#30 - Zinc. Poor corroding fella.

Hi everyone!

So I'm getting closer to my goal... I have a resounding 7 elements left to go - Tantalum, Tungsten, Rhenium, Osmium, Platinum, Gold, and Mercury. I am going to try and get 4 of them done today and the remaining 3 done tomorrow. The remainder of the week will be dedicated to going back and making revisions to the completed ones (and possibly re-doing a couple of them) and working on the typography (atomic numbers and symbols, possibly a fun fact for each element). Or printing. Bahh, I dunno. I need to make a schedule.

Anyway I will be updating when I finally finish them all; I have a "mini-version" of my thesis wall that I will throw up here, so stay tuned!

Whoops, forgot to post on Sunday! Well better late than never...

Anyway I HAVE 18 TO GOOOOO!! I'm going to try and have them all done by next Tuesday so I can get feedback from my senior thesis professor. I think I can do it.

Senior Thesis Update #3

#86 - Radon

What's uppppp y'all.

Awight I am most definitely on my way. I'm at 43/73 at the moment, currently working on #44. It's my goal to have 50 done by Wednesday when I'm going home for a couple of days (spring break). Can I do it? I sure hope so!

Okee dokie, back to the grind. Thanks for checkin' in with me!

Senior Thesis Update #2

#47 - Ag - Silver
(She's actually one of my favorites thusfar, and definitely one I've spent a lot of time on)

Senior thesis update #2!

Well I'm up to 35/73 elements (I can't wait until I get 37/73, I think I'll throw a party) and still going strong. I think I'm a little bit behind because I keep getting distracted by real life, but I'm sure that will change in the coming weeks.

The entire thesis process is really strange because even the entire process seems very subconscious; I'm not really aware of creating elements as I do them, and when I go back and look at some of them I don't remember drawing them. I guess that's a good thing, though; it'll keep me objective.

Well, I've got a dog show to go to today and then I'm going to try and crank out a couple more elements tonight. Stay classy, Milwaukee!
